Why is there inner conflict?
It’s like there’s two of you inside your head, both battling to win! One part of you wants to stop smoking for health reasons and there’s another part of you that wants to keep smoking to keep you connected and social which could also be deemed healthy by the subconscious mind!
Believe it or not, both of these “parts” believe that what they are doing for you is right and hence the feeling of inner conflict.

What is Parts therapy?
Parts therapy can be used in hypnosis to help you access these two conflicting inner minds. The therapist guides the client into trance and then acts as a mediator between the two parts. (eg- the part that wants to smoke and the part that wants to keep smoking.)
Both parts have their say, and then a negotiation can be reached. Every part has a role to play and a job to do. Usually in parts therapy, the part that is changing it’s job (eg- quitting smoking) needs a new job to do. (eg-making sure we stretch and go outside for a walk.) So the benefit that the part was doing stays, it’s just the way it does it that changes.
