What is anxiety and how do we experience it?

For many people, anxiety is an huge part of their lives. Most people experience anxiety while attending an interview or a first date but that anxiety will often go away after the experience is over. Childhood trauma and being surrounded with caregivers who were very anxious may be a cause of anxiety.

Relaxation: The Hypnotherapist guides you to relax deeply, visualizing and feeling yourself becoming more peaceful. They’ll assist you to create a safe place in your mind and body which will provide you a feeling of safety and calm that you will always have access to.

Suggestion: The Hypnotherapist gives you suggestions for changes in behavior to help you deal with the issue causing anxiety. Remembering times you felt confidence, and bringing that feeling of confidence to the issue you’re currently dealing with. Suggesting that you are strong enough to work through the problem instead of avoiding it. Seeing yourself handling your challenging situations, free from fear.

Coping Skills: In this process, a hypnotherapist will teach you some coping skills like guided imagery, deep breathing and the STOP technique to deal with the anxieties and fears.

Exploration of Past Experiences: Hypnotherapists encourage you to talk about the experiences you are going through and how they relate back to your past. For example, trust issues from past relationship, or abandonment when you were a child may still be impacting you today. In a regression, we can go back to that original issue and reframe the experience and heal the feelings around which can help to heal the issue that’s occurring right now.
